This was a tiered process. I was a senior in 2018 Fall semester when I applied. I was upfront about graduating after Spring 2019 and the need for the position to be filled full-time by March 2019. The college tentatively offered me the position in March, but couldn't confirm my hire until the Board of Trustees approved my May 2019 start date. The overall experience has been delightful and welcoming.

I was invited for an initial interview and told that the President or VP OAA might want to interview me after the committee does, so I should plan my time accordingly. When I got there, I had to find the room myself and wait outside since there were no chairs. I peeked in the door window to see if I should go in, and saw another candidate being interviewed. One of the committee members saw me looking and gestured 'no' with his head, indicating I shouldn't interrupt. So I waited in the hall for 10-15 minutes. I watched the interview end, and then the committee members left for a break without even acknowledging me. I felt really unwelcome and surprised by the lack of respect from the committee chair and members. Also, the candidate who interviewed before me left the room while I was still standing there. The college made no effort to prevent candidates from seeing each other.

A recruiter from the office reached out to me and asked some general questions about how my current job experience was relevant for the role. A few days later, I was invited for an in-person interview. After the interview, I was told a decision would be made the following week. However, by the time I returned to work, I had already received a generic HR email stating that the position had been filled.

I had a skype interview, and less than 24 hours before, they told me I needed to do a teaching demo. The interview went well, and they offered a second interview, but it had to be in person with the president, even though it was only for an hour. I asked if it could be virtual since I'm not local, and they just canceled the interview without responding. It was really unprofessional, and I don't want to work there.
