First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ocean Conservancy.
Project Manager
I got lucky and was scouted by a recruiter for this role. We chatted about the position, and I shared my enthusiasm. The recruiter was super helpful in getting me ready for the interviews. First, I had a phone screening with the recruiter. We discussed my qualifications for the job and had a general chat to see if I'd fit the company culture and the project. After passing that, I had a panel interview with my potential manager and their leadership team, about six people in total. Then, I was hired.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Event Specialist
It was a multi phase interview that took place over several weeks, with different team members involved in each stage. The first interview was with a recruiter who managed all communication. There was also some homework to do at one point, which was submitted as part of the interview.

Communications Director
I applied and went through a recruiter. An interview process happened in August/September. By early November, I saw a connection got a new title: Ocean Conservancy Communications Director. It seems they hired a recruiter and then ghosted candidates. I can't believe how much money they wasted. My advice to OC is to research the job market. Candidates are super frustrated with companies that treat them like cogs. It's bad for your brand when you treat applicants poorly. You lost a supporter.

Marine Habitat Restoration Specialist
Got a call for a phone interview a few days after applying, scheduled for the next day. It went well, and the interviewer seemed to think we'd talk again, so I was hopeful for a second round. Turns out, no second interview a few weeks later. This happened with two jobs I interviewed for at this company - neither person got back to me when they said they would, even though they both gave me a timeframe for updates. If you interview with Ocean Conservancy, make sure to follow up after the given timeframe, because it's best to get the bad news quickly!
