First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OCBC.
Financial Consultant
It was nice, it really depends on which branch manager you meet. Some of them were very nice but some of them were boring, they just asked simple questions and didn’t hire you. I interviewed with 4 managers, 3 of them were nice.
- Can you tell me why you chose this role?
- What are your strengths?
- Do you have any questions for us?
Financial Consultant
Before the interview, I had to study a Fund and a Life Insurance Plan. Then, I had to present them to the interviewer. They were pretty rude and not very friendly, so I think you need to be ready for some insults and tough questions.
- Tell me about the financial instruments you were asked to prepare.
- Can you explain the details of the Fund and the Life Insurance Plan?
- Try to sell me the Fund and Life Insurance Plan.
Financial Consultant
The interview started late and I had to wait a long time after my scheduled slot. During the interview, the interviewer's phone rang and they started using it, which made me wait. It felt unprofessional. The interviewer described the job as stressful with daily targets and repeatedly emphasized how difficult it is. There's a 6-week training period before starting, and a 6-month probation period.
- Can you sell me this interview room, acting as a customer who isn't interested in buying a room, with the constraint that I can't lower the price?
- Considering your degree, why are you interested in this particular role when you could pursue other positions at OCBC, such as an analyst?
