First, I had a conference call that covered behavioral and fit questions. Then, I had to do a technical writing test. I was given 60 minutes to write about a topic I selected. The writing sample was originally planned as an on-the-spot test right after the call, but I was able to reschedule since I initially thought the interview was only an hour long and already had plans. I appreciated them being flexible.

I was invited to interview for the Associate Attorney role. I wasn't sure if it would be a quick screen or a full interview, but I met with 2 partners. Even though it was only 20 minutes, I thought it was a real interview. They didn't get back to me until I emailed them weeks later, so I guess it was just a screener. They were very nice and pleasant during the interview.

There were two rounds of interviews, each with about 5 partners and associates. A couple of the interviewers quizzed me on my scientific field (organic chemistry), so you may want to brush up on your technical field, especially if you haven't worked as a patent examiner. It wasn't so much difficult as it was long.

- The organic chemistry pop quiz was *somewhat* unexpected, but wasn't completely out of left field, and I didn't find it too difficult.
- The question that gave me the most trouble was whether I could survive in the "shark tank" (handle dealing with other attorneys on a daily basis).
- Perhaps I got this question because I'm a little soft-spoken and shy.

It was a really long interview process with a lot of stages and tests. It wasn't super fun or welcoming, just very direct. They make you do a paper skills test, and if you don't pass that, you can't go on to the next part.
