& Process

So I had three interviews basically: first a phone chat, then I went in person, and after that there was a team interview. They called me back about a week later. After we chatted about the offer details, I got it in writing before saying yes.

I applied for the Life Enrichment Specialist job through Indeed and then got a call for a phone screen a few days later. Ben from Oakwood wanted to chat and see if I was a good fit for the role. He was super nice and made me feel comfortable even though I was nervous! After that call, Ben reached out to set up a time for the interview. He was really quick with email replies, which made setting up the date and location easy. The actual interview was nice and productive. It was obvious that the Oakwood team is dedicated to their work and collaborates well. The whole process was incredibly smooth, and both Ben and the other staff members were really welcoming and made me feel valued.

Oakwood Village reached out to me on Indeed for the Buyer position based on my profile. Ben from Talent Services contacted me again shortly after. The communication remained open and respectful throughout. I had a relaxed, professional, and informational initial interview with Ben. This was followed by an in-person interview on-site with the hiring manager. It was about 30 minutes and efficient; the manager had reviewed my resume and asked specific questions, also providing insights into the role. The process then slowed, but Ben provided updates. Despite the common practice of companies providing little info and cutting contact, this was a welcome experience. I recommend it regardless of the outcome and would reapply.

The online application process is painful, with many screens to go through; however once that is done the face to face conversations went well. I went through three interviews; an initial screening Q&A, direct to hiring manager 1:1, then a panel/group interview. There was good participation and engagement from the staff who were there. I was able to ask questions I had of the group as well.
