It kicked off with a recruiter call to chat about my background and why I'm interested in the job. Then, I chatted with the team lead about supply planning stuff, working with other teams, and how I'd handle inventory and execution issues.

Seriously, don't even bother interviewing with NZXT. I'm telling everyone reading this to not apply or interview unless you want to waste your time and energy. The process was pathetic and showed zero respect for my time. It took 48 days from when I applied, with over two weeks of being ghosted, and a total of 5 interviews before I got a generic rejection. I talked to HR, the hiring manager, and three other people from different teams. I thought the conversations went well, but I got no real feedback during the whole process. Finally, after 5 interviews, they sent a generic rejection saying they weren't moving forward with my application. What a joke for anyone with experience. They're disorganized and don't respect candidates. With how they're doing in the market, it's obvious they're desperate to make more profit, which explains the layoffs. I used to be a big fan and recommend their products, but I won't anymore after seeing how they act professionally. There's no reason to waste everyone's time like this.

The interview process with this company was extremely unprofessional. It started with a short and easy initial phone call with the recruiter. Then, a phone call was scheduled with the VP of Sales, but they missed it. I had to contact the recruiter to find out what happened, and they apologized and rescheduled. For the rescheduled call, I had to call long distance to a Google Meet up. During most of this call, the VP of Sales seemed more interested in getting information about my current employer, a large electronics retailer and potential customer, rather than asking about my skills or how I could help the business. After the call, the recruiter said they enjoyed it and wanted to set up a call with the VP of Product. However, literally 2 minutes after sending the invite, it was abruptly cancelled, and the recruiter said they would reschedule. After a few days, I followed up twice with the recruiter, but received no response; I was completely ghosted. It was very unprofessional and showed no respect for my time. They should have at least had the courtesy to email back with feedback and let me know where I stood. It's fine if they decided on someone else, but they should communicate it. This shows the company's values. P.S. I found out they hired someone.

Technical Coding

So I spoke with a developer from the team, who was super nice and asked some really good questions. Then, we jumped straight into a programming challenge, which was a bit unexpected this early. The challenge was to implement a Queue, including methods for adding, removing, and printing its contents, all without using arrays. Honestly, this felt more like a Computer Science data structures problem than something directly relevant for a Front-End Engineer role, and it had been ages since I'd tackled something like that. I didn't do great, but the interviewer was helpful and guided me through it. Afterwards, he mentioned that he personally wouldn't include a programming challenge. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job. I really think NZXT should rethink their interview approach and make sure the challenges align with the actual job requirements.
