Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NYLAG.
Intern
The interview process is short and sweet, mostly asking about your previous internship work and why you're keen on interning with NYLAG. They're just trying to see if you're a good fit and genuinely interested.
- Could you tell me about your responsibilities in your last internship?
- What makes you want to join NYLAG?
- What was your motivation for selecting this particular unit at NYLAG?
Intern
The process was brief. They mentioned asking all candidates the same general questions to ensure fairness, and then allowing time at the end for you to share anything additional they should be aware of.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Intern
My university advisor told me about an interview opp with NYLAG. I emailed the contact there, and they got back to me in a couple days to set up an interview for the next week. I met with two department heads and the person I'd emailed. They asked about my past experience and why I wanted to intern at NYLAG. I heard back a week later that I got the internship.
- What are you most interested in about working at this organization?
- What do you hope to gain from this internship?
