The hiring process took two months. It started with an email from the Hiring Manager, followed by an initial call which included some excel technical questions. Then there was a take-home test that I had 24 hours to complete once received. The offer process took about 3 weeks.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty simple. The interviewers were friendly and asked about my skills and what I like. You don't need to know the TLC, but you do need to know some computer programs that all city agencies use. Even if you haven't worked for the city before, knowing Microsoft Office is required. There will probably be two interviewers, a supervisor and the assistant director, but no more than that.

Behavioral Case

I applied online and heard back pretty fast about setting up an in-person interview. I don't think I really nailed the interview, to be honest. The conversation was quite back-and-forth, and the interviewer really pushed for more details, which is fine, but I just wasn't at my best.

I went into a room with the supervisor and hiring manager, and they started asking me a mix of scenario-based and typical questions. They seemed pretty neutral, not overly friendly. In the end, they decided not to offer me the job.
