Communications Specialist
The interview process was just okay. The recruiter wasn't great at communicating. For instance, I applied for a job I saw online, but when I got to the first interview, I found out I was being considered for a different role. I hadn't known about this beforehand and wasn't ready. The recruiter should have said something like, 'That job is filled, but there's another one you might be a good fit for. Take a look at the description. Interested?' If I'd known what the job was, I likely wouldn't have gone because I wasn't interested and felt overqualified. Maybe the recruiter knew this and didn't mention it. It did help me practice my interviewing skills though.
- What area would your manager say you need to improve?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- What job would you pursue if salary wasn't a factor?
Compensation Manager
I was approached by a recruiter and after a few phone calls, I went onsite for an interview. It was a long process, similar to others I've had in New England. I met with 3 people for 4 hours, and they all thought I was a great fit. They asked me to come back the next week to meet the department head. I had another round of long interviews, meeting the head of the department, and then everyone I'd met before plus someone new. Everyone was still positive. The department head said he wanted me for the job and was just waiting for the recruiters to finalize things. They said I'd hear back by the next day or the week after at the latest. I never heard from them again, not even a rejection notice. It felt misleading and unprofessional.
- Can you describe your background in compensation, specifically covering executive compensation and equity?
Assistant
I applied online and then got an email to set up a phone interview. I never heard back from the HR Rep, so I followed up with an email but she didn't respond. I thought this was a bit unprofessional. If you are going to take the time to interview someone, at least let them know you're not interested, or that the salary is too high and maybe there's room for negotiation.
- How would you deal with conflict?
- Could you tell me about your work history?
- What is your desired salary?
Executive Assistant
The onboarding here at NxStage was really good and went smoothly. During the interview process, I got to meet a bunch of my future coworkers. This helped me get a full picture of what my job would be like and how I'd fit into the NxStage team. The HR team was great and helped make the process move fast, while also making sure it was the right career move for me. I was really happy with how the hiring and interview process went, and I'm super happy to be part of the NxStage team!
