Had an initial video interview over Zoom with a long-term employee at NWYC, where I got a general overview of their business. After that, I did a lot of research using their provided materials and videos about the role. A second video interview is scheduled soon.

When I got there I was a little nervous but after meeting the manager I was totally ready to go. They want people who are proactive and will support you to succeed. You should be enthusiastic and passionate about what we do. We're like a family right away. This is the last job you'll ever want.

You start with an application, then a national recruiter gets in touch. They'll check to see if you're serious about the job, and if you are, they'll set up an in-person interview. This could be one of many interviews you have, or you might be one of just two people interviewing. After that, they'll let you know if you got the job or not. They're clear upfront about the initial cost for gas and about $100 coming out of your first paycheck, which is pretty standard for this kind of work.

Just so you know, I was a little worried because they spent a lot of time trying to sell me on the job itself. This position is pretty much all commission, with a $1500 supplement for the first 13 weeks, which isn't a lot to get started with.
