Just got the first behavioral interview for new grad, didn’t pass because I didn’t know enough about GPU kernels and in general the recent work at the company. Felt like they wanted someone who basically knows everything about the company and has hands-on experience with their products, which I didn’t have.
- Tell me about the NVIDIA products you’ve used or know of. What is it that NVIDIA actually does?

Applied online and got scheduled for an interview a couple weeks later. The first interview was a technical one with 30 minutes of Hackerrank Python coding and 30 minutes of technical questions about the skills and projects on my resume. The interviewers were very patient and accommodating, overall a chill and positive experience. Time was short and a bit rushed so there wasn’t much time to go deep into projects. Really important to remember STAR so you don’t ramble about projects. Also super important to clearly state the technical work you personally did (be a bit egotistical). In my current role, it’s taboo to use "I" and we are forced to say "we" to push a teamwork mentality, even if you did all the work by yourself. I think this is pretty common, so just remember to drop that and really sell YOU.
- A practical Python function question, more real-world and not really leetcode style.
- Tell us about your GenAI projects and what you specifically contributed.
- LLM technical questions about specific technical details and topics you mentioned on your resume.

Had three phone interviews that mostly focused on my previous projects and clarifying what the role would be. After that I had two on-site visits in Santa Clara where I met a total of eight different people. The whole process was really fun and engaging and I was pretty excited when they started setting up salary negotiations. But their on-boarding recruiter took a long time to arrange meetings, forgot them several times, and used “negging” and manipulation as a negotiation tactic so I decided to go somewhere else.
- How would you go about finding training images that were misclassified by a convolutional neural network (for example, locate all images with cats that the model didn’t classify as cats)?
