First round was a 2-hour interview with two of the senior engineers on the team I'm interviewing with, most of it was talking about past internship experiences and past projects, and then 2 whiteboard questions that are simple leetcode style questions. The first one was explained very bad so I missed some details and didn't get it right, the second was fine but I didn't have enough time because I was speaking too much about past experiences.

The round goes with a second one, each 45 minutes and I'm happy with the interview process. The questions are mostly technical, not for me. Solving small problems with optimal solutions. Recruiter guided nicely and whole process takes around 4 weeks.

Behavioral Technical

Got an email hearing back about 3 months after I applied. They told me which team was interested in my resume. We scheduled a 30 minute behavioral interview with the director of the engineering team. They told me about the team, what they do, and asked questions about stuff on my resume. Even though the Ignite program is supposed to be a pre-internship for underrepresented students from low resources, it felt like the interviewer didn’t really know that, never asked why I was interested in the program, asked about AGILE and other software things a sophomore wouldn’t really know, and treated it like a regular SWE internship. I thought I did kind of bad, but I heard back a week later with good news. Then they set up a 30 minute technical interview with a software engineer manager. No coding questions, just technical concepts related to machine. They also asked if I had any follow-up questions from the behavioral interview. I answered them really well and connected it to their hobbies. Then I heard back a month later and they told me I didn’t get the offer. I’m pretty sure it was because of the behavioral.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • How comfortable are you with C programming?
  • What are your hobbies? They don’t have to be related to computer science.
  • Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
