The interview process started off fine. After my last chat with HR on Sep 10th, I was told I'd get an update by the end of that week. Two weeks went by, so I nudged the recruiter. They said they were sorting out a few things and I'd hear back by the end of that week. I followed up again a week later and got a call today with a verbal offer. Turns out, they accidentally offered the job to someone else! The recruiter casually mentioned she hadn't heard from the hiring manager about my case yet. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with how this went down. A little consideration would've been nice, especially since I put in a lot of time and effort. Getting a mistaken call after almost four weeks of silence is a big miss by nVent. I'm moving on to other jobs, but I won't forget this.

Behavioral Other

The recruiter was nice and helpful, which initially gave me hope for a decent experience, but it turned out to be one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had. The hiring manager seemed disengaged, yawning frequently and looking away while asking generic questions. It felt like a waste of time, and I was offended by the lack of professionalism and apparent lack of intention to hire. The company seems to focus heavily on DEI initiatives.

I applied online and then had a phone screening with the recruiter. After that, there were two technical interviews with the department head and an online test. The first technical interview involved questions about the tech stack from the job description, then we talked about what we both expected. The second interview was for me to ask technical questions about the potential work. The interviewer was nice. Then I did an online test with technical questions. The recruiter told me I did well on the test, but the rest of the process was on hold because of summer holidays. Then the recruiter just stopped responding, which was a bit of a bummer.
