First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NuWaves Engineering.
Engineering Technician
First up was a phone screen to see if you're into electronics. Then, two in-person interviews. The first one, with an engineer and the Talent Acquisition manager, covered some technical stuff and basic engineering processes. The second in-person interview was with top management, focused more on whether you'd fit into the company culture, showing you can work well with others but also stand your ground when needed.
- What would you do if you had a disagreement with an engineer?
Electrical Engineer
I had an on-site interview at their Middletown, OH location. It started in a conference room where I talked with two senior engineers and a recruiter. I shared some info about myself and asked questions about the role. Afterwards, I got a tour of the facility, which helped me see some projects and understand the intern responsibilities better.
- Can you explain your interest in working with us?
- Could you detail your RF background relevant to this role?
Electronic Assembler
The interview process was difficult. The first round involved five people plus the owner of the company on speakerphone, and they randomly fired off all kinds of questions. The second interview had seven upper management people, including both owners, and they really threw out some tough questions, also wanting to know a lot about me.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
RF Design Engineer
Standard interview process with quick email responses for scheduling phone and onsite interviews. Enjoyed the tour and talking with engineers. Mostly RF questions, with some personality/culture fit questions.
- Could you list some fundamental RF components?
- What is the definition of Noise Figure?
- Can you describe the Smith Chart?
