Member Service Representative
Got a call from a nice recruiter who saw my resume and wanted to set up an interview. She asked a bunch of questions right then to see if I'd be a good fit for the job. She scheduled my next interview for sometime after Thanksgiving, to be held at the branch. I'd be meeting the branch manager and a group of other company execs by phone. They asked me a few questions and seemed really interested in learning about me and my past banking work. I felt pretty good, not stressed, and like I could be a good addition to the team. After the interview, the branch manager introduced me to the rest of the team, which was awesome. Everyone followed COVID safety rules. They made it clear it's a sales role, so keep that in mind when you answer.
- What would you say are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations for a customer?
- Tell me about a situation where you were concerned about not reaching a target.
Compliance Officer
After I applied, about a week later, they emailed me to do a personality and aptitude test. About another week passed and then their HR person called me. We had a nice phone interview, she was pleasant. My only complaint is that this company takes too long to get back to applicants, the whole process felt longer than it needed to be.
- How would you handle it if staff saw you as "the police"?
Processor
I had a phone interview and an assessment with the recruiter. Then I was called in for an interview. I talked to 2 people, one was the supervisor of the processing dept, and the other was from the employment servicing dept. A few days later, I got a call saying my processing skills weren't polished enough. They offered me a regular processing position but needed to do a background check first. I was excited because I hadn't processed in over 4 years, so I was a bit out of the loop but figured I'd be back up to par in a week. They said the background check would take a week. The employment service lady called, saying they were still doing the background check but needed an explanation for a few things on my CBR. I sent the info. Then, 3 days later, the recruiter called asking for pay stubs from an employer from 8 years ago. I gave them the info for verification. I didn't hear back and got concerned since the background check was done. I emailed the recruiter, who called an hour later asking me to come in (even though I lived 1.5 hours away) for another assessment and interview. I did that. After the interview, they said I'd hear back the next day, but I didn't. I called the employment services lady, who said she'd call back by the end of the day, but I still didn't hear anything. I emailed again, and 5 days later, they said no offer. No reasons were given. Their culture needs to be changed because they don't care about people.
- What was my motivation for seeking a role in processing?
Branch Manager
I arrived about 15 minutes early for my interview. No one seemed to know I was scheduled to come in. The person who was supposed to interview me was very late, and the other person didn't even show up at all. It felt very unprofessional. The questions themselves weren't that tough, but it was pretty clear they were hoping to promote someone from within or hire someone with a lot of prior management experience. It was a disappointing experience.
- What makes you unique compared to other applicants?
