Started with a phone screen, then a manager interview, and finally the national sales manager interview, after which an offer was extended. This was a pretty typical interview process for the industry. It was done in a timely manner and was respectful.

The first interview was quite long, mostly discussing my current job and felt more like a conversation than a formal interview. After that, there were follow-up assignments that were also pretty extensive and needed to be submitted as a Word doc or PDF. The recruiters aren't super quick to get back to you once you're past the initial stages, and if the position gets filled, you often don't hear anything back.

A recruiter contacted me about the role, and it led to 3 virtual interviews. Then, there was a really long 7-hour in-person interview with 9 different employees, followed by one last virtual interview, making it 13 interviews in total. I actually backed out initially because they required the job to be fully on-site, but they convinced me to come back by saying I could work a hybrid schedule since I lived far away. I asked a few times if this would be an issue with the team, and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem and that Nutramax knew about the hybrid schedule. After all 13 interviews with various staff members, and after they told me multiple times I was the top candidate and an offer was coming soon, I waited another week with no response. I was then blindsided and told no offer would be extended because the executive team wants the role to be entirely on-site every day. I'm so frustrated with the lack of respect for my time and effort during this 6-week interview process, only to not get an offer due to miscommunications within the company that they said weren't an issue. Nobody from Nutramax directly contacted me to apologize or thank me for my time, except for the external recruiters who were very nice. I really recommend that all candidates double and triple-check any specific requirements and qualifications for a role to avoid wasting hours preparing for 13 interviews.

The people were nice, but the webcam quality was really bad, making it feel like I was talking to a wall. They seemed to really want someone local to South Carolina. The whole interview felt off from the start. Unsurprisingly, they hired someone else. I'm tired of companies that don't treat candidates with respect, especially when they use terrible equipment. It sends mixed messages and likely explains why it takes them so long to fill positions.
