QA Analyst
This job took 7 weeks to go through, with 5 interviews total. Each interview was around 30 minutes and mostly behavioral, with no take home test. Most of the interviews were conversational, which was nice. The communication was a bit scattered though. I was told there would be 4 rounds (recruiter, hiring manager, team, CTO), but there were actually 5, with an extra one involving product and engineering. There were two recruiters, one I never spoke to and one I did. When asked what they wanted that I didn't have, some said 'automation' but others thought it wasn't possible. Some mentioned 'mobile testing' while the hiring manager said it could be shared. The engineering interview was tough due to a 'gotcha' question about finding the angle between clock hands to 'see how I approach a problem.' When I gave an approach, he said it 'was not necessary to do it that way,' making it seem like he wanted to fluster me rather than see my problem-solving. Other than that, the interviews were professional and relevant. But the mixed communication and that one interview brought my rating down to neutral.

Accountant
I interviewed for a pretty niche role and had tons of relevant experience. After 4 interviews, they canceled the 5th one hour before it started, sending a generic email saying my experience wasn't relevant. I've tried to get feedback twice since then with no luck. It's a bummer because I spent over 2 hours interviewing and tons of time prepping for each, and was hoping for more constructive feedback. The interviews themselves are a bit long, with one person each time, so expect 5-6+ interviews.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with large datasets?
Brand Marketing Manager
I went through 7 interviews over 8 weeks for the role at Nutrafol. The process started with an interview with the Hiring Manager in week 1, followed by an HR interview in week 2. Weeks 3, 5, and 7 involved further interviews with the Director of Brand Marketing, a Designer, a Public Relations specialist, a Social Media Manager, and the SVP of Brand Marketing. After all these interviews, they sent an email stating the role was put on hold due to team structure shifts. They mentioned I made a positive impression and they'd reconsider me if anything else opened up. The communication between interviews was very minimal, and each interview lasted 30-60 minutes. The overall vibe was 'we hustle here, we're heads down most of the time, are you ready to work hard?' which felt presumptive and suggested a toxic environment. A few months later, they reached out about the role again, but I wasn't able to take a full-time position, so I proposed a project rate. I sent a proposal after a call, but never heard back, which left a really bad impression of a brand I respect.
- Are you a hustler?
- Can you work effectively in a silo?
- Are you comfortable working with strong-willed founders?
Chief of Staff
I went through 5 interviews in total, with the last two being directly with the CEO/Owner. It was a pretty long process, but everyone I met was genuinely nice. I think the company was in the middle of a big transformation at the time, which is probably why things are where they are now.
- Can you share your ethos and worldview?
- Tell me about your decision-making and project management approach.
- How do you think about global consciousness and self-awareness in hypothetical situations?
