So there are 3 interviews in total. The first one is with your future manager, and it's usually a screening interview, held in a room with these weird triangular chairs they call the "fish bowl". Then, there's a group interview. In this one, you might get asked the same questions as everyone else, or maybe none. It can be pretty intense, but they usually won't put you through it if they don't think you have a shot. I mean, why waste 6 people's time otherwise? Andrew K. can be a tough interviewer, always with follow-up questions. For sales-type roles, they might ask about dealing with difficult clients on the phone, since the job involves a lot of phone calls. For engineering roles, you'll need to be good at logging all the details of helpdesk calls in a ticketing system. So, experience with that is a plus.

This interview felt like a joke, honestly. They were looking to fill a few spots but seemed to really need a whole engineering team of ten or more. They expected skills in system administration, hardware specs, embedded device development, and systems and web programming, among other things. The expectations were totally unrealistic, especially considering the location (it's not exactly a tech hub), the low salary they offered, and the run-down office. Even worse, they wouldn't tell me anything about the products I'd be working on, claiming it was a 'security risk.' Come on, NDAs aren't that complicated.

So there were three interviews, spread out about two weeks apart. The first one was with a technical recruiter, a manager, and HR. Right after that, I had to do a written test on troubleshooting computer hardware/software and basic networking/security. They gave me some time for it, but said I could have more if I needed it. The second interview was with a bunch of people from the company - HR, management, the team lead, and some tier one techs. They asked me about my experience, hobbies, and career goals. I also got to ask my own questions and observe how the staff interacted, which gave me a good feel for Nuspire's culture. The third interview was supposed to be with the CEO, but HR called and said the CEO gave the okay to skip it and move on to the next step.

First, I had a basic phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager, but their camera wasn't working so I was just talking to a blank screen. After that, I had to do a written task, which was okay. They said I did a great job and then gave me another project/task to complete. I decided not to continue with the interview process because two multi-hour tasks is a lot more than what other marketing jobs are asking for.
