First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nurix.
Manager
Had an initial chat with the hiring manager, which went well. After that, there was a long and drawn-out series of panel interviews spread over several weeks. The questions weren't tough, mainly technical stuff related to the job. The HR department kept rescheduling interviews at the very last minute, like on the day of. I gave my availability and then heard nothing for a week. When I followed up, they said they couldn't confirm my availability. Then another email came saying to just check with my agency. I figured that was it, especially after the long interviews and all the waiting and communication issues. But then the recruiter emailed later that same day saying I wasn't a good fit for Nurix. It's weird they went through all this and were so shady instead of just saying no earlier. I think too many interview rounds are a bad sign.
- What's your reason for wanting to leave your current job?
Clinical Scientist
It was a really straightforward interview process for this clinical development role. Initially, I spoke with HR and the hiring manager, who were both super helpful in giving me the lowdown on the company and the science. After that, there were two more rounds of interviews with other team members. Overall, it was a great experience because the team at Nurix is awesome, and the hiring manager would have been a fantastic mentor. Even though I ended up taking a different job, Nurix seemed like a genuinely great place to work, with interesting science and a really collaborative vibe.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What motivated you to apply here?
- Tell me about your leadership qualities.
Clinical Contracts Manager
I found the job via a recruiter and they moved pretty fast to get me in for an interview. The first person I talked to was nice and gave me a lot of good feedback, saying they were really impressed with my background. Even though they seemed ready to decide, they set up another interview. The second chat was also good, more like a casual talk where I got to show what I can do. They even asked some curious questions about my past, which made me feel pretty good about how things were going. But even with all the positive vibes, I ended up getting a rejection through the recruiter. Looking back, I feel like they weren't totally upfront because the excitement they showed didn't match the final decision.
- Describe your approach to contract negotiation and preparation.
Scientist
I talked to the hiring manager and HR about my fit and got asked some behavioral questions. Then I had to give a presentation and met a bunch of my potential coworkers. Everything asked was reasonable, and the people were nice. It was a bit disorganized though, they didn't seem to know who I'd be reporting to. The hiring manager was honest and friendly, and was helpful even when they told me the job went to someone else.
- Lots of behavioral questions about how well you'd fit into the team.
