The hiring process took over 6 months, which is extremely unprofessional and drawn out. They keep you in limbo for weeks or months, but when they want to interview, you're expected to clear your schedule on the spot. Message to the company - if people are on the job hunt for production roles, it's because they need a job NOW, not next year.

It was a 3 step process. First, a phone interview, then a panel interview, and a final follow up with management. The panel interview will be a STAR type interview where they ask about a situation and how you handled it.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview involves a panel of five to six people. Typically, they conduct two panel sessions for each candidate. They really want you to visit the plant in person to meet the team and see where the joists are fabricated. It was definitely a good idea to see the plant and get a feel for the culture firsthand. The team has a great, family-like atmosphere.

Behavioral Technical Case

The first interview was a phone call with the regional manager, basically a phone screening. I emailed about 2 weeks later, and the next day HR sent a rejection. But the day after that, the local manager called me for a second interview. This was in-person with the local manager and a salesman, lasting over an hour. They had scenario questions and wrote down my responses. They said they'd let me know in a few weeks. Six and a half weeks later, the local manager called me for a third interview with his boss, the same person I spoke with on the initial phone call. This interview was with the local manager, the salesman, and his boss. It was strange; he kept asking me to talk about myself. I was told I was one of three finalists and that there would be one more interview at their plant out of town. They mentioned they've been trying to fill this role for 2-3 years and aren't rushing unless they find the perfect fit. About 5 days later, HR emailed that I wasn't being considered, and the local manager called the next day.
