The selection process starts with checking all the documents, like certificates for academics and eligibility. After that, there's an interview with a panel of 5-6 people, which includes senior officers and some really smart faculty from IIT Bombay. They check your technical knowledge and your overall personality.

So when I applied for the Scientific Officer-D position at NPCIL, the recruitment process involved two interview rounds. You had to clear the first interview to be eligible for the second one. Both interviews were focused on teaching and related to mechanical engineering design. They asked basic engineering design questions based on my past experience. If your fundamentals aren't strong, it's tough to answer them.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you tell me about your experience at your previous company?
  • Could you describe your experience in your previous company?
  • I'd like to hear about your experience in your previous company.

We select candidates based on interview marks, ignoring your GATE rank. Your GATE score is just to get you to the interview. The interview panel has 5-6 people. They'll ask you to list your favorite subjects and then ask questions based on what they feel like, not necessarily sticking to your chosen subjects.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Could you tell us about your B.Tech projects?
  • Which subjects do you like the most?
  • Why are these your favorite subjects?
