Behavioral Presentation Case

I went through 5 rounds for this role. It started with a corporate sales recruiter, then I met with the SVP of Sales twice. After that, I had a session with the sales engineering manager. The process included a pitch exercise where I presented to a panel, and they said I did well, asking only a few standard questions. They mentioned I'd meet with the SVP again the following week and then have a final online meeting with the CEO. But then, nothing. No one followed up to schedule anything, and I never heard back with feedback or a decision. It was a big letdown how they handled it, setting expectations they didn't meet. They dropped the ball.

Behavioral Technical

First, I had a laid-back but professional phone chat with a corporate recruiter. Then, a few days later, I had a virtual chat with the hiring manager where we talked about my background and experience and the company culture. It wasn't super technical, but I think my background wasn't the best fit. The hiring manager was really nice and professional. The whole experience felt very positive, and it seems like a great place to work.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty standard interview with some straightforward questions. They really focused on my passions, which was cool. The interviewer was nice and seemed genuine. I did notice some odd things though. They kind of avoided answering my questions. I wanted to chat with the engineers I'd be working with, but they brushed it off, saying it was hard to arrange and they were all remote, which I found out later is their company model. This whole remote thing makes me uneasy. I also asked to meet my direct manager, and they said he was in Spain full-time, not on vacation. That's a first for me. I wondered why there wasn't a local project manager to support the developers. My last job had an in-office PM and everyone was together. I need a mentor, and if my mentor is in Spain and expects me to be independent, I'm not sure how I'll grow in my career, which is super important to me. I think they sensed I was hesitant about the remote setup and the management structure, and that might be why the conversation ended. It felt like they were looking for a freelancer, but I want a full-time role with growth potential.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview was split into two main parts. First up was a phone screening with the Recruiting Director. He was really friendly and helpful, starting by giving me a rundown of the company's history and future plans. I had some initial concerns about the location (Oak Park, IL) and we chatted about the commute, but he emphasized how the office, people, and opportunities made it worthwhile. After that, I went for an on-site visit to Oak Park, which turned out to be pretty accessible and the downtown area is quite charming. During the on-site, I had extended conversations with the heads of Design and Product Development, as well as one of the Co-Founders. The team at NowSecure is clearly passionate and selective about hiring. While I don't recall any super tough questions, we had a lot of discussion about my experience, how small companies operate, and my personal approach to effective work. A big plus was the chance to influence more than just product design. Everyone I met mentioned it's a collaborative effort and that ideas are truly valued.
