Software Engineer
Got a recruiter reach out first, then interviewed with the hiring manager for cultural fit and experience. It went fine. Then there was a take home project, which was pretty open-ended with minimum requirements and some stretch goals. Didn't get feedback for a week. Reached out to the HM for questions and follow-up but got no response. Finally, the recruiter called to say they went with other candidates. The HM apparently likes to give feedback, but I had to ask and still got nothing. Makes you wonder what it's like working there if this is how they are during interviews.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- How do you approach problem-solving?
- Develop a full-stack CRUD application with no strict requirements, just some suggestions.
Data Scientist
The interview process had three main parts. First, I had a call with the senior data scientist to go over the company, the job, and my background. Then, I had a 3-hour take-home technical assignment. After that, I did a technical interview with the SDS and another team member to discuss the assignment. The last stage was with the SDS and two more Novata people, focusing more on how I work, teamwork, and my interest in ESG. I thought it was a good process overall. It was fast, communication was clear, and I always knew what was next. The technical task wasn't too hard, and everyone was really positive and easy to talk to.
- Questions on SQL.
- Querying and manipulating dataframes using Python.
- How to perform EDA to figure out data inputs for a model.
Account Executive
The interview process included a call with Novata's Head of People, Chief Revenue Officer, US Sales Manager, and Co-Founder. Each chat was a mutual learning session, discussing personal and professional experiences, understanding personalities and career goals, and delving into ESG and my motivation for a career in this field. The conversations were very genuine, relaxed, and exciting. I felt comfortable throughout and was really impressed by how quick and efficient the process was. Novata's leadership team did a great job answering my questions and made me feel really confident when it came time to accept my offer.
- How did you find out about Novata and what's your interest in ESG?
- Can you describe your sales background, including average deal size, sales cycle, and buyer personas?
- What are you seeking in your next position?
Team Assistant
The interview process was great. The first step was an interview with the hiring manager, who is an Executive Assistant. They asked about my previous relevant work history and what I could contribute to this position. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview, which is always nice! The interviewer made me feel comfortable and provided a lot of useful information about the job, the team, and the company. I ended up withdrawing my application, but if a suitable position opens up in the future, I would definitely reapply. It seems like a really nice team in the London office. I was informed that the next interview would be with the Head of HR, followed by a final interview with a senior leader on the team, making it 3 rounds in total.
- Can you describe your previous experience?
- What's prompting your departure from your current job?
- What aspects of your current role do you find appealing?
