First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Novaspect.
Rotational Engineer
I applied and then a few days later they had me do a virtual interview where I just answered questions on screen. After that, I had a phone chat where they talked about the job and asked what I was looking for. Then there was a panel interview with three people. I got an offer about a month later. Oh, and at some point early on, I had to take a math and critical thinking test.
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with a coworker and how you resolved it.
Rotation Engineer
The interview process involved three rounds. The first round was a self-paced video interview where I was asked general professional questions, like describing a past problem and how I solved it. Next, there was a phone interview with the recruiter focusing on my interest in the company and career goals. The final round had two parts: a panel interview with the recruiter and two technical managers, followed by a timed cognitive assessment involving math and pattern recognition questions, of which I couldn't finish all 50.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you encountered at work and how you successfully navigated it?
Manager
First, a quick HR call to see if you're a fit with some general and specific questions. Then, a 30-minute call with the hiring manager to make sure you're still a good candidate. If that goes well, you'll have an onsite interview with 3-4 people, and they'll show you around afterward. This whole thing usually takes about 2-4 weeks.
- Tell me about the hardest problem you've ever solved.
- What accomplishment are you most proud of?
- How do you go about building relationships with your colleagues?
Sales Engineer
The hiring process was really tough. We had 4 interviews in total: one phone call, one online assessment, and two in-person meetings. The first phone call was pretty basic, just covering why I was looking for a new job and how I found out about the role. The online part was a behavioral and psychiatric evaluation, which was super in-depth with tons of questions – plan to spend a good hour or two on it. The first in-person interview felt really casual and relaxed. I met the whole team I'd be working with, plus the Sales Engineer Manager, so about 5 people in total. The questions were the usual behavioral and situational ones you'd expect. The second in-person interview was similar, but this time I was flown out to Chicago, their main headquarters. It involved the same types of questions but with different people.
- Tell me about a time you didn't achieve your intended goal. Describe how you handled it and what steps you took to ensure it wouldn't happen again.
