It was a 2 step process. First a phone screening, then I had to do a presentation of findings from a pcap file and answer some theoretical questions on basic cybersecurity principles and some behavioural questions too.

This was my first technical interview experience, so I was unsure of what to anticipate. The technical part was pretty simple, and it then went straight into knowledge-based questions, followed by some typical interview questions.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process started with a quick 10-minute HR screening call where we talked about the general interview flow, if I was okay with relocating for the job, and salary expectations. A week later, I had a 30-minute interview with the SOC team lead. They asked me about my past work experience and some technical stuff. We also discussed what other steps were involved in the hiring process, what kind of training is provided, and what certifications they look for in the SOC team. HR mentioned they'd email me about the next step, which was an assignment I'd need to present to the SOC team lead and a few other SOC 2 team members. The following week, I had a 1-hour interview with the SOC team lead and four other SOC 2 team members. The main part of this interview was presenting the assignment I completed and answering questions about my resume. A few days after that, I got a job offer via email. The whole thing took a little over a month to wrap up.
