First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Radiographer
This was a joint interview for Derby, Leicester, and Nottingham hospitals. It involved a panel interview, an image viewing task, and a scenario. Upon arrival, I had to fill out a form and then rank the three hospitals based on my preference.
- Given these 10 images, please assess them and identify any present pathologies.
Research Assistant
Interviewed by three staff members, consisting of two research nurses and another research practitioner. I found the experience to be comfortable and very easy-going, and the questions weren't as difficult as I had anticipated.
- What appeals to you about the research practitioner role?
- Could you elaborate on your background and past positions?
- How would you handle a situation where a staff member behaved unprofessionally with a patient?
Healthcare Assistant
The whole process took about 3 to 4 hours because there were many people being interviewed, but it went smoothly and was organized. I waited about 30 minutes. The first part was a written assessment, and the second was an oral one.
- Could you describe your understanding of this job role?
- What motivates you to seek employment with the NHS?
- What are your reasons for wanting to join NUH?
Information Analyst
It was a pretty standard interview process, nothing really out of the ordinary or super difficult. Just make sure you have some good examples ready from your past jobs, like about working with others or when you really went the extra mile. The pay seemed a bit lower than other places I've interviewed, but that might just be for this department or the specific people on the panel.
