First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Notion Labs.
Account Executive
The interview process started with a Recruiter call, followed by a Hiring Manager chat. Then, there was a Peer interview, which felt a bit odd given my experience level compared to theirs. After that, a Cross-Functional interview took place, and it all concluded with a panel interview in front of three people. Honestly, the experience wasn't the best, as it seemed like different interviewers were looking for distinct qualities – some emphasized enterprise experience, while others focused on the ability to handle ambiguity and navigate through challenging situations.
- Could you tell me why you are interested in Notion and why this opportunity is relevant to you at this moment?
- What is your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)?
- What are the key challenges you foresee in selling within the current market landscape?
Account Executive
I was so excited to get an opportunity to interview with Notion in Sydney. But gosh is the reality so different from what they portray themselves to be. This place is the epitome of toxic positivity. The teams online "gush" about each other like they are all some weird twisted lover group, but when I met the team in person, they were all extremely stressed out, glum and just didn't seem like they were happy in their jobs at all. One of the worst interview experiences I've ever had.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe your previous role?
Account Executive
I had a fantastic interview experience with Notion. The process was really well-organized and clear, and they respected my time. Everything was explained beforehand on Notion pages and they told me the timelines upfront. The people I met were great; they were thoughtful, kind, and really fit Notion's values. The talks felt genuine and I felt heard. Everyone was supportive and encouraging. The questions were good and focused on real situations, with a lot of emphasis on collaboration, impact, and cultural fit, not just checking boxes. It was one of the best interview experiences I've had and made me even more excited about Notion as a company.
- How would you handle extended sales processes involving several people who make decisions?
- Can you share an instance where you had to change your communication style for different people within the same company?
