First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northtec.
Production Supervisor
You will interview with the day shift and night shift managers and three other management staff. The whole process can take up to 3 hours if things are going well. However, if one of the five people interviewing you doesn't like you, they'll cut it short.
- What makes you the best candidate for this role compared to others?
Management Co-op
I got to the place and asked for the HR person I was supposed to meet. But they weren't there, so I got passed around to a few other people who just asked really basic resume questions. At one point, I was told to wait in an office for someone to come interview me. I waited for like an hour, then I just started walking down the hall looking for someone I knew who could help. I ended up just asking someone with their door open, and they helped me find the one person I knew I was supposed to meet, an HR person. She said I was late, even though I was on time and had been there for over 3 hours, and that I'd only interviewed with 5 out of 12 people. She then found the original guy I was supposed to meet. He asked me about my management style. Then I met with one more person and was allowed to leave. The whole thing was a mess, super disorganized and chaotic, didn't make a good impression.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- What has been your greatest failure?
- How would you handle an unethical employee?
Shipping Associate
I interviewed with a serious guy who was critical of my qualifications and seriousness for the role. I felt like I wasn't taken seriously even though I answered all his questions well. A current employee in the same role showed me around the facility. Then, I talked to an HR rep about pay and other details. Overall, it's a good company, but watch out for a few specific people.
- Regarding a very technical aspect of the job, how would you propose to change or approach it for improvement?
Packer
The interview was a group session that lasted about an hour. After the questions, we all went on a tour of the warehouse.
- How do you manage your own schedule?
- Are you able to lift 75 pounds?
