First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northstar Cafe.
Server/Bartender
The interview process included a recruiter call and an onsite interview. The interviewer was friendly, but unclear about how Northstar operates, like their tip system. They seemed a bit strict regarding jewelry and clothing. Overall, it was a good experience, and I got a preview shift.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Line Cook
We met in person for an interview where I talked to different team members. Then, I did a full day trial shift, working in both the back and front of the house. During the shift, I did cooking, cleaning, and showed my knife skills.
- Can you tell me about your previous back of house experience?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process was straightforward, involving basic questions. You should be ready to discuss yourself, your past experience, and your abilities in customer service. Be direct about what you expect from the job. It was not very formal and took place in the cafe.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Describe your previous experience.
Guest Service Team Member
If you get called in for an interview, you just need to smile and be there. If you get a preview shift, you're pretty much hired. If you don't get a preview shift when you interview, they've already decided to move on, but they haven't told you yet.
- What are your hobbies or how do you spend your free time?
- Are you available to work on weekends?
- Is it possible for you to commit to working with Northstar for a full year?
