Behavioral Technical

It wasn't too bad, the interview process had two parts. First, there was a screening phone call to confirm who you are and to get a sense of your people skills. Then, the main interview was on Zoom. They asked typical interview questions, focusing on your technical skills and how you handle tough situations.

I had an initial screening with HR, followed by a video interview with the manager, team lead, and another senior technical person. One person focused on behavioral questions, another asked about my industry change and motivation for this role, and the third conducted a technical assessment covering reliability and maintainability.

Confirmed questions2 questions

Behavioral Presentation

HR Business Partner reached out to set up the interview for the following week. The interview with the hiring manager went really well! HR called on Wednesday afternoon with an offer over the phone. I attempted to negotiate the salary a bit but it was unsuccessful. I requested to have the night to think it over and discuss with my family, which HR approved. I called back the next morning to accept the offer. HR responded with "great, I'll let the manager know." About 4 hours later, I received a call stating the manager decided to "continue interviewing stronger candidates". The whole experience was very unprofessional. It makes me wonder why NG would extend offers to "weak" candidates.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you share an instance where you had to present a project idea and persuade upper management to approve it?
