First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NorthPoint Development.
Administrative Assistant
I had a good initial phone chat with the recruiter. Then they had me do a personality test and the Wonderlic. After I finished the personality test, made a presentation about my results, and completed the Wonderlic (which has 50 questions in 12 minutes, 100 questions about job preferences, and 150 agree/disagree items), I got an email saying I didn't get the job. They didn't say why, so I guess I didn't do well on the tests or they didn't think I was a good fit personality-wise. It'd be great to get some feedback on why I wasn't selected after taking all those tests. Having so many steps feels a bit like a warning sign.
- What makes you want to join NorthPoint?
Frontend Software Engineer
The first interview, a phone screen, started 10 minutes late because HR forgot to call, so I had to email her to remind her about our scheduled chat. The next interview was with the manager. For about an hour, he mostly talked about the company and his own engineering background, without really trying to get to know me. However, the positive thing was that he personally called me the next day to say he enjoyed our conversation but wouldn't be moving forward with my application because he was seeking someone more senior. The third round was a technical interview with the team, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. Finally, there was a fourth round in person with the executive director.

Human Resources
Applied and got a phone screen quickly. Then, I interviewed with the manager and director. Unlike other companies that usually take time to talk about themselves, these interviews felt like they were trying to put me on the defensive about my qualifications, even though it was obvious I had them. Given Northpoint is a 'KC Best Place to Work,' I expected more enthusiasm about their company. The way I was treated made me feel like a number, making me question what it's like to actually work there.
- What's your motivation for seeking this position and joining Northpoint?
Applications Support Analyst
So the interview process here is a bit much for the job. First, a recruiter calls you for a phone screen. Then they mention it's a 4-step interview process after that. You'll chat with your direct manager, then a project manager, then a bunch of other employees, and finally, you'll have a cultural interview with some executives. They never even updated me after I got to step 3. It seems like all these companies under northpoint are like 'we work hard but have fun'. Doesn't sound like a great place to work.
- Can you describe a situation you faced and how you managed it using the STAR method?
