First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
GIS Intern
Started with an HR call that was pretty basic and covered my interest in the position, personality, etc. Then I had an in person interview. The questions were mostly about personality and behavior, with some GIS experience questions at the end.
- Can you describe your GIS experience?
Finance Intern
I applied in Dec 2022. First, there was a short phone screening (10-20 mins) about my interest in NEORSD, the position, how much time I could commit, my skills, past internships, and when I'd graduate. Then, I had a panel interview with 3 people from the same department. They asked about 5-6 behavioral and technical questions.
- How do you keep yourself organized?
- How do you manage organization under pressure?
- Can you tell me about a time when a process or project didn't go according to plan?
Internal Audit Intern
The interview process involved two rounds. The first was a 15-20 minute chat with HR about my availability, the intern period, and why I was interested in the role. The second round, lasting 40-50 minutes, was with two internal auditors and an accountant, focusing on general behavioral questions. Everyone was really friendly and patient, making it a comfortable and nice experience.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- Can you tell me about your learning skills?
- What are your critical thinking skills like?
Intern
So I had a phone interview first, and then they tried to do a Skype interview with a bunch of interviewers. But their Skype wasn't working, so we just did another phone call instead. It got really awkward when they started asking the technical questions. I straight up told them I didn't know some of the answers, and they literally laughed at me. I just ended the interview then and there because that felt like a huge red flag. No point in continuing if the environment is already that toxic and rude, especially when I'm already dealing with that at my current job.
