Technical System Design

This company's hiring process was really disappointing, it took two whole months. I had three interviews, and one involved a two-hour drive. The final round with the CIO was almost two hours long. Even though the job was for a Project Coordinator, they had me do a system design task which didn't make sense for the role. After all that, they just said they were 'going in a different direction.' It's weird because I have PMP and Scrum Master certs, which they listed as requirements, and that's not typical for a Project Coordinator. Despite having all the qualifications, the process felt disorganized and they didn't communicate expectations well from the start. It left me with a bad impression, I expected better.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The whole thing took about a month from applying to getting the final word. First, I had a phone screen with the recruiter where they asked about my background, why I wanted to work there, and if the pay was okay. Then, I had an hour-long interview with the hiring manager. They asked a lot of questions, some of which felt a bit random but others were about the job duties. The last interview was with someone from the community affairs team. I actually overheard the recruiter and that person talking about their interviewing experience beforehand. The interview itself was pretty standard and only took about 30 minutes. Out of the two interviews, the one with the hiring manager gave me a better idea of the role and what they were looking for. Overall, my experience was decent, despite a few weird moments. I did appreciate how quickly the recruiter got back to me though.

Behavioral Other

My experience was terrible and full of red flags, honestly. The recruiter was super unprofessional, running late to our calls by over 15 minutes each time and never even apologized. She clearly hadn't done any research on me because her questions were so basic. It was weird, I actually knew more about the company than she did, and I'd only just started looking into it. She couldn't answer simple questions about the job and kept saying she'd 'get back to me.' She just seemed totally unprepared. I tried to overlook that and went for an onsite interview with the hiring manager, which I thought went well. Then I got my first offer, and it was actually lower than the salary range the recruiter had mentioned. I asked if there was room to negotiate since I have the experience and skills. They said yes, but their counteroffer still wasn't close to what I was looking for. I asked again if they could get closer to my desired number, and the recruiter again said she'd check and get back to me. You can imagine my shock when she called back and said, 'Sorry, we checked our budget and we can't even afford the two higher numbers we discussed. Actually, we're rescinding our original offer.' This company and recruiter totally wasted my time by making me think negotiation was possible and then pulling the rug out from under me last minute. It feels like they just wanted someone cheap. Seriously, run from this place. They don't want the best talent, just the cheapest.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview was pretty straightforward. I met with two interviewers who are Health Education Coordinators and also Registered Nurses. It was a formal sit-down interview. We started off with some questions about how you handle relationships and communication with coworkers and supervisors. Then we talked about my experience from my resume and cover letter. They also had me do a quick Chinese test at the end where I had to translate a paragraph from English to Chinese.
