I interviewed with the direct supervisor and the director of libraries. It's possible other faculty were there too. I had to give a teaching presentation on a topic I selected. They asked standard questions and wanted me to demonstrate my skills and experience. I'm sure it's different now.

Behavioral Technical

It was a three-person interview where each person asked questions. They seemed to be looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of the position, which felt like it might be geared towards an internal candidate. It felt like an interview for the sake of an interview, and I don't think they were very interested in me. When I asked what they were looking for in an ideal candidate, they said, 'To know how to do everything without training,' which is a tough standard for a position that is both temporary and not well-defined.

After submitting an online application, candidates selected will proceed to a one-on-one interview. The next and final step is a panel interview with three interviewers. Each interviewer will ask basic and unusual questions using a standardized questionnaire, making notes on it after each of your answers. The college offices are staffed by about 90% women, so if you are a man, you should be young and attractive or very knowledgeable for the position. The female staff holds the hiring power.

It was a very laid-back interview. We exchanged a bunch of emails. Once they saw I was qualified and had a good interview, I was pretty much hired. The English Department Chair interviews you for the Speech Department. The academic departments, HR, and IT are super helpful and quick to support you. They really want you to do well.
