First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at North American Electric Reliability Corp..
Data Engineer
First round was pretty chill, mostly just chatting with the hiring manager and their boss about my background and career goals. The second round involved the same people plus some team members. One of them grilled me on Salesforce and Elasticsearch – turns out not having that experience was a dealbreaker, which was kind of a bummer they didn't mention that earlier.
- If you have five tasks in your queue and an urgent request comes in, how do you handle it?
- Tell me about your experience with Salesforce.
- What's your experience with Elasticsearch?
IT Manager
The interview process was fair and involved a panel interview. It was a multi-stage process that occurred in a couple of blocks. They looked at minimum skillsets. For example, they were looking for the minimum word count in this box, which needs thirty minimum characters and does not seem to like anything less than thirty.
- Regarding Glassdoor, what is the minimum word count required?
- Can you explain why a review or salary information is needed just to view a company on Glassdoor?
Associate Counsel
I had a panel interview with different members from departments that were interested. There were multiple rotating panels. They were on all levels of the interviewees. I was provided a list ahead of time of the interviewers. It also included a writing section. My resume and past experiences were discussed.
- Can you discuss your previous experience and expertise?
- Could you go into more detail about your resume and past experiences?
Administrative Assistant
When I arrived, it was clear this place had issues. The person meeting me was a full 30 minutes late without any apology. Their part of the interview was just to take me to a desk on another floor to write a short essay. Then, I was brought back to reception and waited another half-hour for my only real interview. I never met the actual boss of the person who got hired. They didn't let me know their decision until I sent three emails.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you had to employ time management skills?
