First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at North 6th Agency.
Digital Vice President
They reached out because they were in a bind to fill the Senior Digital Vice President Role. I made time for a phone screen and to come in for an interview on extremely short notice, only two days. After the in-person interview, they asked for my references, and then I heard nothing for about a week. I had to email them for an update and was informed they chose another candidate. This whole experience was unprofessional, especially for a senior-level position. I posed some challenging questions that they seemed hesitant to answer, but they were necessary given the team was being dissolved. I wasn't impressed, and I wish the chosen candidate luck because they'll need it.
- Can you tell me more about the team's upcoming changes?
- What are the key objectives and expectations for this role?
Account Manager
I had an in-person interview with one of N6A's VPs, then a personality survey, and finally reference checks. I'd suggest researching the company's history and perks beforehand. The interviewer was helpful and courteous, and everyone I met was warm and helpful from the moment I arrived. They were having lunch when I came in, which was cool. We still have free lunch for staff every Thursday, a tradition that has continued since.
- What are your thoughts on N6A's culture and why would you be a good fit?
Account Coordinator
The process started with a lobby wait, and several staff and the CEO said hello, which was a nice touch. The interview was okay, but I wasn't thrilled that the interviewer had less than six months of experience. Then, I took an online personality test with fun, thought-provoking questions. I didn't like that they asked for references before making a decision. I sent them after getting home and let my contacts know they might be contacted. A week later, I was told they were moving in a different direction. My reference mentioned they were never contacted, so I suggest they avoid that in the future to prevent candidate embarrassment.
- Why do you want to move to the PR industry from news media?
Account Executive
I initially applied to N6A through an online job posting. A friend who works there had already recommended the company, so I was keen to apply. After I applied, they were very quick to respond. The HR Director reached out with some initial questions and then set up a meeting with one of the Senior Vice Presidents. I had an hour-long interview with the SVP, then took a personality assessment, and they also did a reference check. Finally, they extended an offer. It was a nice gesture that the CEO personally called to offer me the position and commend my performance throughout the interviews.
- What is your understanding of N6A?
