Drove an hour for a weird interview, waited in the hot vestibule for 20 mins and no one answered the phone. Then I was given a math packet to do in front of the interviewer, which took about 30 mins. They said they're looking for the best globally but wouldn't share their salary range. I said no thanks to the job but appreciated the math test and road trip.

The interview process involved a 30-minute HR phone screen, followed by a 1-hour HR Zoom interview. Next was a 1-hour meeting with the architectural team, and finally, a 1-hour Revit test. All the steps were fairly easy, but the questions tended to get repetitive and tiring.

The interview process was pretty standard, though a bit robotic. They asked about my background, skills, education, interest in the industry, and interest in the company. It didn't feel like there was much room for discussion, more like they were just checking boxes, which is fine. The whole thing was efficient and didn't take much time. They contacted me quickly, set up the interview quickly, and rejected me quickly. What I found odd was the follow-up. They sent a pre-written, clearly copy-pasted rejection. I replied politely, thanking them and asking what experiences or qualifications would have made me a better candidate. They responded by sending the exact same rejection email, showing they hadn't read my message at all. Honestly, no response would have been better. I can't call it a negative experience, just peculiar.

I thought this was a big waste of time. They had me do two coding assignments, one for a parser and another for a simple react web page. Then, in the next stage, I talked to someone who wasn't technical, and they told me they were looking for someone with more experience. They could have just checked my resume first and saved me the trouble.
