I was scheduled for a video conference at the Atlanta office with an interview panel in Norfolk. Since I was traveling, I asked to interview via Skype, but was told that wasn't possible. I was offered to reschedule for the following week, so I drove 5 hours for the interview, only to be stood up because someone else was mistakenly scheduled for my time slot. A few days later, I finally had a phone interview. The HR process was a complete mess.

I started by attending a job fair at my college. Then I got an email saying they were interested and wanted to interview me. The interview involved about 30 of us in a room listening to info about NS. After that, we took a 2-hour intelligence test, had lunch, and then had individual interviews with HR. Some people were still testing and interviewing after lunch. It seemed like there wasn't a strict time limit. Later, I got an email for an interview with a couple of managers. They mainly asked about my interest in DB. They didn't contact me after that. Then, another email came asking for an interview with a different department. They didn't say it was technical, but it turned out to be a technical interview with 2 directors and 4 managers asking me technical questions. The next week, they emailed that they weren't moving forward with my application. The whole thing took about 5 months. I think I did well on the technical questions. Maybe I didn't express enough enthusiasm. I have no idea what I did wrong, and I worried a lot. There were many applicants, and I really wanted the job.

I applied online and then got contacted about a month later. After that, I did an online assessment, had a phone interview, went through an online HR presentation, and then participated in panel discussions. The final stage involved two in-person interviews, one with four interviewers and another with three. I received an automated email two days later stating I wasn't offered the position, but it was a great experience overall. I asked for feedback but never got any. My nerves got the best of me because I really wanted the job, so remember to stay confident!
