You don't hear from a recruiter initially, you talk directly with the hiring manager. Then, radio silence. No feedback, no rejection. Eventually, you learn the job was filled because the recruiter posted about it on LinkedIn. It's a bummer and not professional.

It was a pretty average interview process. Started with an initial phone call, then a zoom or in-person interview with a few people. After that, there was an online test that I had to complete on my own time. They also asked me to provide three references, who they then contacted. The process finished with a final screening interview with HR.

I applied through SC jobs.com and got a call 3 months later - I had forgotten I ever applied. The woman who called me to ask if I was still interested jumped right into a phone interview. I scored an in-person interview with this woman's supervisor who used a ton of big words and repetitive phrases. After that interview I got a second in-person interview with the first lady, the supervisor AND their boss who was the Chief Medical Officer. The whole process took about 3 weeks, and within these 3 weeks the supervisor must have emailed and called me to resend my resume 5 or more times. I brought examples of my work with me. This last panel loved me, and loved the idea of having me come aboard and execute some top level organizational admin support for a department that really needed someone technologically adept. I received and accepted a job offer shortly after the last interview.

Behavioral Presentation Other

I started this process back in January. The initial three interviews went fine: I spoke with HR, then the hiring manager, and then HR again about two weeks later. That's when things took a turn. I was really keen on the role, so I kept following up. I didn't hear back until I mentioned I was in final rounds with another company. They then told me I wasn't moving forward due to candidates with 'more expensive leadership experience.' However, they did say they liked me enough to consider me for a different, less senior role with an elevated (Senior) title because of my background. I thought, okay, I still like the company. I met with the new hiring managers, one of whom mentioned that the Digital department was actually being eliminated. This didn't sit well with me, nor the fact that the hiring managers I'd report to had years less experience than me, but I pushed on. The company went quiet for another two weeks, then finally contacted me with another excuse, saying the team had been busy with an event but were getting 'back to normal.' The new hiring manager sent me the job description for the non-Senior version of the role and stuck to the original pay range. I was also asked to interview with someone who seemed unrelated. At that point, I decided to pull out. This company seems really nice. The people you talk to are friendly, and I'm sure HR will send a generic response to this review. But ultimately, their actions don't match their mission statement. This disorganized, disrespectful process has caused me way more stress than it should have, and if this is how they treat candidates, I can't imagine the internal workings are any better.
