First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nonprofit HR.
Recruiter
You submit your resume and then get a phone screen. After that, you have one interview with the manager and the team. They make a quick decision within days. It's a simple process that focuses on whether you're a good fit and have the right skills. Super quick and easy, I'd recommend it to anyone.
- Can you share an example of a time you had to adjust to an unexpected change at work and describe how you managed it?
Technical Support
So, for this job, you'll be handling long-term disability (LTD) claims. You'll have your own caseload that you'll need to manage and analyze. Part of the job involves reviewing claims, looking into them, and then deciding if they're covered, if they're legitimate, and if they're appropriate. You'll also be giving technical advice and detailed instructions to the claims management folks and the teams. This guidance will be about the products, how the claims process works, any regulations, and the systems that go with the claims you're handling.
- I'm going to pass on answering the specific questions asked in my interview.
Vice President Client Services
I had a cordial and enjoyable interview process. It involved three interviews total: one phone screen and then two separate interviews with the executive leadership team. However, the lack of follow-up was incredibly disappointing. After my last interview, I was told I'd hear back within 3-4 weeks, but I never did. I only found out the position had been filled when I saw the person's bio on the website. For an executive role at a firm that specializes in HR and recruiting, it's disappointing not to get even a basic acknowledgment that you're no longer being considered.
- Were you asked behavioral questions and higher-level vision questions?
Marketing Director
This is an HR consulting firm, so they do things completely by the book with few innovative interview techniques. They select numerous candidates based on experience. Phone screening is the first round with face-to-face interviewing as the final round. Home office staff may interview with numerous persons or groups. Consultants meet only with managers from that department.
- Did they probe your knowledge?
- Did they explore your personality?
