The interview process at NFF starts with a phone screen, then a hiring manager interview, followed by a group interview, and finally an interview with the head of HR. After the hiring manager interview, I was ghosted and they didn't respond to my follow-up email even though they said they would get back to me within 3 business days. It's a shame because I thought they were a values-driven company, but this experience showed me otherwise. I won't be applying for jobs there again.

Behavioral Technical

The interview started with a call, but it was with the wrong person and I couldn't hear them at all due to technical issues. They didn't reschedule or move to a better location. The questions were very basic and didn't seem related to my resume. I was asked a standard 'tell me about a time' question and a question about what I'd bring to the organization. When I asked questions, the interviewer just read from the company website or couldn't answer. They asked about my salary expectations and travel willingness. The next steps seemed excessive for the role, involving an unpaid assignment. It felt ableist to continue the call when I couldn't hear, and they didn't offer solutions.

Application questions were really detailed and gave me a solid sense of what they were looking for in the role -- but they took forever to complete along with a cover letter (seriously hours -- I was annoyed at how long and in-depth the questions were, but it shows how much I wanted the job). The phone screening touched on many of the same points as the application. As someone in talent, I didn't feel like the two similar screening stages really captured my experiences well. The team seemed nice and the work looked interesting.

Case Behavioral

The interview was informative and transparent. They ran a bit over time, which is good to be mindful of if you have another job. I met with most of the people I now work with, and there was some repetition in questions. For other positions, people had to do a case study, but mine was never sent because the person was on vacation. So, it was done on the spot in my next interview. The case study was more of a conversation and explanation of my thought process because it was done during the interview, not on paper.

  • How do you get stakeholders to agree with your plans?
