First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nomura.
Credit Risk Analyst
I was eliminated during the group discussion (GD) stage. In the GD, we were given a current event topic to discuss. They selected about 2-3 people from each group of 12. I did not advance to the next stages of the interview process.
- What are your thoughts on the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on Indian products?
Market Risk Analyst
I had a really bad time interviewing with Nomura. First, I applied for an Operations Oversight job, but after interviewing, they took over two months to respond, saying the role wasn't approved. Then they considered me for a Business Reorganisation and Strategy position, telling me I was the top candidate. But again, communication was slow, and they ended up saying that role wasn't approved either. Finally, I interviewed for a Market Risk Analyst role. I did the first interview and had the second one scheduled, but right before it, they told me they hired someone internally, wasting my time again. What was worse was how often interviews got postponed last minute because the interviewers were too busy. I get that they're busy, but this happened so much it felt disorganized and like they didn't respect my time. Throughout, communication was spotty and misleading. They led me to believe I was the frontrunner multiple times, only for the roles to fall through because they weren't approved. It felt really dishonest, especially since they claim integrity is a core value. I felt strung along and disrespected. It was a super disappointing experience, and I expected much better from Nomura.
- Can you explain your interest in Market Risk?
- Tell me about your background and experience in market risk.
- Could you provide an overview of your career history as presented on your CV?
Credit Risk Analyst
I went through 5 interviews with senior folks in the corporate credit risk team. Most of them were VPs or higher, with one senior associate also interviewing me. About two of the interviews were more behavioral, and the rest were pretty technical.

- What elements can affect the creditworthiness of a roofing company?
