It was good. The environment is respectful. We started with a group discussion, then an email writing task. Those who passed that had two rounds of panel interviews. The whole process was pretty straightforward. Make sure you can back up whatever you put on your resume. Just be yourself.

I had a telephone interview about two weeks ago with two business representatives from the Operations division. They asked pretty basic questions like why financial services, why Nomura, and why Operations. For the competency questions, they hardly asked any follow-up questions. The interview wasn't too difficult, but since I wasn't getting much feedback, I found myself talking a lot, and they didn't really stop me.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved a phone call that included a background check and some basic questions about Nomura, banking, your goals, and past experience. After a long wait of about two months, I had the first round interview at the office. This was a one-on-two interview where they asked specific questions about operations and competency. Three weeks later, there was the final round, which consisted of two separate interviews with seniors. It was pretty relaxed, nothing too technical to worry about; it felt more like a personality assessment.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What is your motivation for pursuing a career in banking, and specifically in operations?
  • Can you elaborate on your previous work experience?
  • How have you handled situations with challenging individuals in the past?
