First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nomura.
Investment Banking Analyst
The process was pretty quick, with technical questions starting right from the first round. They asked behavioral questions, brain teasers, about deals I'd been following, and macro trends, along with technical questions. Networking really helps, so don't skip that part.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Nomura and the field of Investment Banking?
Investment Banking Analyst
The first day had an HR interview, and the second day was the superday. The superday included interviews with a VP, two associates, and one analyst. This was post-bachelor's, so it wasn't as difficult as one might find after an MSc.
- Can you explain DCF?
- What is an LBO?
- How does consolidation work?
Investment Banking Associate
The first round involved interviews with five people from different departments like HR, COO, IBD Coverage, and the Product Team. The second round was with the department head, covering technical and market-related questions. It's generally not too difficult if you have prior IBD experience.
- Can you explain the IPO marketing process?
- Could you share your experience from past deals?
