This was one of the worst interview experiences I've had. It felt more like an interrogation by the Head of Department, who had low emotional intelligence. He was argumentative when I discussed personal topics, like why I left a job I had for a decade. He grilled me on the details of deals I'd managed. To top it off, he revealed he was actually looking to fill a different role, which my friends who work there, and who warned me about this specific department head's lack of people skills and his search for a different position, had mentioned. So, I was brought in under false pretenses, a complete waste of my time. While I wouldn't typically mind this if I had connected with someone, I definitely won't be seeking any professional collaboration with this person in the future.

It was a pretty standard interview process, like you'd expect at a Japanese bank. They mentioned that their salary budget is limited, which might not be super appealing to really experienced folks, though the pay itself is decent. I ended up talking with three managers.
