Nomura came to our campus for their mentorship program when I was in my second year. They started with a quick intro to finance terms, and then we immediately took a 30-minute written test focused on aptitude and reasoning. I was shortlisted for the interview along with 15 others. The interview mainly covered finance topics, aiming to gauge my interest. They also asked a bit about Python and C++, whichever I was comfortable with. Since I was upfront about not having a real interest in finance, they didn't select me for the next rounds. They ended up selecting 5 girls.

So, Nomura's interview vibe is pretty structured, you know? They really wanna see if you're technically sharp and also if you'd vibe with the team. It usually kicks off with a quick chat, like a recruiter call, to see your background, what makes you tick, and if you're generally a good fit. Then comes the heavy lifting – technical interviews. They'll poke around your analytical skills, see how you solve problems, and check your grasp of finance stuff. Be ready to dive deep into your past projects or show off your data analysis and financial modelling chops. They also dig into behavioral stuff, like how you communicate, work with others, and handle work situations. Sometimes you might get a case study or even a mock client interaction to test your advisory and presentation game. The final hurdle is usually a sit-down with higher-ups to make sure you're on the same page with Nomura's culture and your career path, followed by a quick HR check for the nitty-gritty.

This was an on-campus interview process for an internship, with the possibility of a PPO. The first round was a group discussion (GD). The second round was a simple technical pen and paper test. The third round involved an interview where they asked basic situation-based questions and questions about my resume.
