Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nomad (NY).
Marketing Operations Coordinator
Had a one-way interview using Hireflix. You get 15 seconds to think, then it records right away, and you can't retake it. Honestly, any company that does these instead of live interviews is a company to avoid. They ghosted me afterwards. Who knows if they're using the pre-recorded interviews to train AI?
- How do our core values relate to you, and what are they?
- Could you describe the responsibilities of an operations coordinator?
- What software does our company use, and what makes you eager to learn it?
Marketing Operations Coordinator
It starts with a 30 min HR interview, then a 1 hour interview with the CEO, and then individual 30 minute interviews with team members. Mostly questions about what marketing ops is, why you're interested in it, and your background.
- Can you tell me what Nomad is?
- What exactly is marketing operations?
- Who are Nomad's clients or partners?
Marketing Operations Coordinator
The whole thing from applying to getting the final word took 8 weeks. After I sent in my application, they had me do some video answers. Then I talked with the hiring manager, then the CEO, and then a group of three team leads. It felt like a lot for an entry level job, especially since they were hiring a whole group at once. Marianne the hiring manager was really clear and kept me in the loop, which was nice.
- Could you explain what marketing operations is in your own words?
Marketing Automation Manager
I applied online and then was asked to apply again via email. We had an initial conversation, but then I was dropped. The person I spoke with was condescending and abrasive. It seems like a cool company with a good business model, but for a client-facing role, I'd expect nicer people.
- Can you describe your experience using automation platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, and Hubspot?
