Applied online, then I got an email from the recruiter to set up a date. Had a phone call with the recruiter who asked me basic questions about myself, why I think I'm a good fit, why Noble People, and my strengths and weaknesses.

It was a really long process for a job I wasn't sure I'd even take. Scheduling was tough because the interviews were long and not near my current job, meaning I'd have to take a sick day. We finally arranged for me to start early (8:30/9 am). First, a 30-minute call with a Media Director who also does HR. Then, two rounds of three back-to-back 30-minute in-person interviews at their office, with one interview happening at a coffee shop. I met 5 women and 2 men, though one man was only on the phone. The women were great, but the men were condescending and kept giving unsolicited advice, which was really off-putting and upsetting as a woman. I didn't get the job, but honestly, I wasn't interested anymore because of all the red flags: everyone seemed overworked and understaffed, there was no clear agency structure, no essential tools or systems, no HR, and many clients weren't on retainer. It also seemed like most senior leaders lacked traditional media planning skills because they came from creative agencies, which hurt their ability to win business with high media spend. I have friends who work there and like it, but it wasn't the right fit for me.

A recruiter from Noble People contacted me on LinkedIn on a Thursday. We immediately had a brief phone call to discuss the role and company. They were impressed and moved me forward to a call with the hiring manager the following Monday. During that call, the hiring manager expressed strong interest in my background and mentioned my potential to meet the executives I'd be supporting, even joking about me joining them. The next day, I met with the executives for an hour. They asked tough questions and seemed very engaged. After not hearing back for a week, I followed up. The recruiting team informed me the position was filled but offered an interview for a different job. I expressed interest, but received no further communication. I was disappointed by the lack of updates or feedback, especially since they initiated the recruitment and progressed me quickly.

Behavioral Presentation

It started with a phone screen and then a video interview with three different people. I think I did well, showing my enthusiasm and knowledge, and we all seemed to have a good time. The recruiter was my only point of contact. They take a really long time to respond and don't give any feedback if you're not selected, which made me wonder if it was because of my race.
