First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NLMK.
Production Engineer
The interview took about four hours. I was asked several questions and also had to complete an easy mental test. Afterwards, I visited the site and then spoke with my manager and their manager.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- How do you react mentally to assess if you can think quickly?
Applications Developer
So I started with a safety presentation, you know, to make sure I knew the basics of being in a mill. I could dress casually, but had to wear boots. Then they took me to the steel mill to see the hot rolls and the products they make. After that, back to the office for a review of my general computer science background since I'm a recent grad. They asked me about stuff like joins and unions, how many bits store a 5-digit number, and memory/garbage collection. Then I toured another IT office where they do Oracle Pl/SQL, making forms and reports. I got asked a few more questions there, but mostly they showed me the introductory work. Finally, I met the head of technology to talk about the daily job and benefits. They asked which environment I preferred, and I mentioned Oracle Pl/SQL because I thought it was better.
- I was asked a basic scenario question about linking data between two database tables.
Research Engineer
There were two rounds: a technical one and an HR one. It was a good experience overall. The interview lasted about an hour. The technical group showed good expertise. The HR part was mostly to discuss the offer.
- Can you present your previous projects?
- Do you have any technical questions related to the research activities?
- Let's talk about the offer.
Intern
The interview process was positive. It included education and role-specific questions. HR provided good support in a fair environment. I interviewed with the potential line manager, another department manager, and the HR Director. We discussed the education process, my previous experience, and my working style.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
