First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NKC Health.
Graduate Nurse
Submitted an online application and a questionnaire about my clinical interests and school experiences. Got a call for an interview. It started with HR, then I had 4 back-to-back interviews with hiring nurse managers from different departments. It was a long and tiring process, over 2 hours of interviewing straight. The people were nice, and I liked the HR manager and some of the nurse managers, but not all. I wasn't offered a job and found out two days later. They said they had too many applicants and not enough openings.
- If you mistakenly gave a patient the wrong medication, how would you manage the situation and inform the patient?

Certified Nursing Assistant
I got an email from an HR person for a unit and we set up a phone interview. Then the nursing manager for that unit interviewed me. She was super nice, but I think I didn't get hired because of my availability. After that, another lady texted me about the orthopedic floor, but she was really rude. So rude I canceled my interview because I didn't want to work with someone so negative. I emailed her about why, and she emailed back asking why again. Way too confrontational for me.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered an issue with a patient or customer and explain how you managed to resolve it?
Licensed Practical Nurse
We did a phone call interview with a recruiter, then a 2nd interview in person where they asked a bunch of questions about why I'd be a good fit for the job. They said there might be a final interview with staff depending on the department.
- How do you handle criticism?
- What are your thoughts on teamwork and how do you practice it?
- What do you find most remarkable about nursing?
